Our philosophy at Veterinary Medical Center of Spring is to provide the
highest quality medical care for your pet and to do so in a manner that
holds consistent with our hospital's core values of honesty, integrity,
compassion and communication.
Our Veterinarian and Staff are up to date on all the latest medications
available in the veterinarian profession, and will insure that when your pet
requires medication that they are prescribed the right medication and treatment
regiment for their illness.
Call ahead and let us know when you need a refill on your pet's
medication so that we can have it ready for pick up.
Before refilling a prescription we must:
- Check your pet's medical history and confirm that your pet is well
enough to take the medication.
- Review your pet's medical record to ensure that tests are current. Some
medications require routine diagnostics to check kidney, liver, and / or
other functions.
- Carefully monitor all medications your pet is taking for their
interactions.
- Confirm the appropriate dose and how often the medication should be
given.
If you request a refill thru a pharmacy we must verify that the pharmacy is
licensed with the Texas state board of pharmacy.
A word of caution when ordering prescriptions from internet pharmacies:
- The drug manufacturer may not guarantee medications
- Some medications may be foreign drugs that may not have the same quality
and purity assurance as the United States does.
- Some medications may be imitations of approved drugs
- Selling prescriptions directly to consumers without a
veterinarian-client-patient relationship may pose health risks to patients.
